A big well done to Thornton Cleveleys Gala Princess Molly who took part in the annual Queen of Queens event that was hosted by Staining Gala Committee.
Our 2017/18 Gala Queen Natalia was invited to switch the Christmas lights on at Marsh Mill. This was a very well attended event and we are all very proud of Natalia for representing Thornton Cleveleys Gala.
This year I was delighted to be invited to have tea and a tour with Ben Wallace MP at the Houses of Parliament and have a tour around the amazing architectural structure of our governmental building. On the 31st of October my mum and I travelled down to London to meet Ben Wallace, where we joined others for a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament and went into various rooms such as the House of Lords and the House of Commons, we also spotted David Blunkett as he arrived for Prime Ministers question time.
During our time with Ben Wallace, we spoke about the possible changes on the Fylde Coast and in Thornton itself. We talked about the role of local MP, the differences between a local councillor and a member of Parliament and the job role he has at present, as the defence secretary of the UK, and other local issues.
Mr Wallace spoke about his time in the Army which being a child of a veteran I could strongly relate to. He showed a clear interest in my hobbies and the local Gala’s and proudly considered the Gala as a major part in our local community and hoped to see them continue for future generations
On 6th July 2017/18 Gala Queen Natalia and Prince Charming Grace went to visit Great Arley School to present them with the trophies for winning our 2017 competition.
